So you’re probably asking yourselves “Who the hell is Rob K and why is he rebooting himself?”
Over the years I’ve been involved in many musical projects, bands and live performances. They have come and gone, along with the online presences and media that represented them. Recently I decided to gather up all the things you never wanted to know about me and put it all in one place…
Welcome to Rob K Music!
I’ve been blessed to have been able to play for many people this year and by the end of December I’ll have played 181 shows for 2012! I was also able to record a new song this past fall with the help of my brother. It’s called “Book of Lies” and I’m really excited for you to hear it. I’m rallying to record the final vocal as soon as my voice clears up.
It’s seems that every year when the humidity eases off in the winter, my voice tends to follow the birds south. I am still able to sing but it’s somewhat of a struggle and it just doesn’t feel like “me.” However there are other songs that need attention instrumentally in the meantime. I’ve tried to lighten my gig schedule in order to free up more time (read: motivation) to finish the new CD. No promises on the timetable but I will tell you six songs are recorded and done.
I’m also sad to say that RKB – The Rob K Band is no more. Plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose. I decided after a number of years that it just wasn’t living up to its potential and that it was time to call it a day. I do have some other things cooking… I’ll get back to you on that.
If you’d like to remain in the loop, aside from visiting this site, please “LIKE” my new Rob K Music Facebook page and/or follow me on Twitter. The old website (www.robkband.com) and its associated Facebook page (RKB – Rob K Band) will be closed down by the end of 2012.
I’ll remind you again. 😉
